I own a #SteamIndex and have for 3 years now. The tech is pretty bloody awesome but so few games work well. Often the controls get in the way of the game.

However it has been fun (but not I am convinced for serious training) for clay training and the gun stocks, while very cool, are almost but not quite right, the weight being a big issue. Add to that I have had a lot of issues with the nunchuks losing sync and virtual guns flying off.

Looking about and there are some amazing sounding VR stocks available. With weight systems, lots of configuration and designed to be a shotgun. But not for the Index.

The Clay simulator I use was abandoned by the developers. While it doesn't have any major issues, there is a lot that could be improved.

There are a couple of actively maintained and well received by shotgun shooters (1).

1. Though there is a fair number who just say spend the money on training sessions.

While I don't want to buy into the Meta Quest ecosystem, I think the VR community has decided it is the winner. If I want the funky stuff it is where I need to go.

Pricing up a good VR shotgun stock and Meta Quest is a mid-range gun. And there are always a couple of mid-range guns I'm eyeing up.

So yeah, I've ordered a #MetaQuest3 and #MegaVR #DuckHunter. Looking forward to next month when I can try them.
