I had to check to see if there was another Dean brother. It turns out that ā¦ uhmmā¦ Dizzy Dean and Nelson Dean seem to be unrelated.
But there was a funny story about Dizzy. As a runner on first and an infield grounder, he slid into the way of the throw from second and the ball hit him in the head, knocking him unconscious.
They took him to the hospital and the next dayās newspaper headline was:
"X-ray of Dean's head reveals nothing."
