I had to check to see if there was another Dean brother. It turns out that … uhmm… Dizzy Dean and Nelson Dean seem to be unrelated.
But there was a funny story about Dizzy. As a runner on first and an infield grounder, he slid into the way of the throw from second and the ball hit him in the head, knocking him unconscious.
They took him to the hospital and the next day’s newspaper headline was:
"X-ray of Dean's head reveals nothing."

I am really warming up to this Brandon Pfaadt guy (four scoreless a couple of days ago against a team from Los Angeles whose name escapes me, then five scoreless last night, with a 0.95 playoff WHIP?!).
As for missing the broadcasts, some difficult game day decisions lie ahead. I have to figure out whether the Win Gods treat it differently if missing the broadcast is intentional, opposed to simply inadvertent. I think that they do.
