#NameThatGame #boardgames my favourite area control game!
@ofdiceandmen I've played it's predecessor, but not it (and I even owned a set at one point in time...). Thankfully, there is someone in town who still has it and it shows up periodically.

That tower is brutal if you're not careful.
@grayson I love the tower! One of the most interesting conflict resolution mechanics. I also love the action order randomisation, having to use territories as action selection, the fact that there's only 12 combat phases in the entire game, the turn order decisions... This whole design is really well done
@grayson oh, and the farmer mechanic too :D
@ofdiceandmen quite. Is it the same where you effectively tax a colony and it sets up unrest potential? I remember that was the balancing act in Wallenstein in that some places you would tax knowing you were either going to lose the province or be able to mitigate it later.
@grayson yep, exactly. Do it too much and you face a rebellion, and any unrest puts the green cubes against you when that province is under attack
@ofdiceandmen yea, I was impressed when I played Wallenstein. I did tell the guy who has Shogun that he should stash it in the car to game night more often cause there are times we would play it vs El Grande.
@grayson @ofdiceandmen I had Wallenstein. Regret selling it now.
@iain @ofdiceandmen As you should. I had Shogun and I also sort of regret selling it.

That box was ginormous...
@ofdiceandmen
I would love to play this one again. Only tried it once, and it was mostly a learning game
