"According to the Hollywood Reporter, ahead of its decision to end The Problem, Apple approached Stewart directly and expressed its need for the host and his team to be “aligned” with the company’s views on topics discussed. Rather than falling in line when Apple threatened to cancel the show, Stewart reportedly decided to walk."

Shocked that Apple would behave this way /s

The Problem With Jon Stewart ending over AI and China coverage

The Problem With Jon Stewart is reportedly over following a disagreement between Stewart and Apple leadership over AI and China coverage on the show.

@JustinH shocked that they thought it would work....
@trisweb @JustinH on the other hand, if I had any loyalty to the streaming platform, it was probably because of them running this show. Pushing Stewart out lowered the chances I pay for tv+ in the future.
@JustinH but nice to see a man who'd rather walk than compromise his integrity
@rasmus91 Absolutely. From what I know about Jon I am not surprised in the least. I have nothing but respect for already influential people who choose principles over money.
@JustinH i found all that rattle encouraging him to run for president to be pretty pathetic (it seems to have died down in recent years, thankfully), but he has my respect as a celebrity and an artist. it’s an admittedly low bar, but these days it’s refreshing to see a rich famous person willing to choose their integrity over the money…and to make sure the shitty corporation’s public image takes a hit for it, better yet
@cultdev I'm a little surprised a company like Apple that's so painstakingly careful about controlling every aspect of it's image would choose to not only work with, but have a flagship show with someone like Stewart who (rather famously) does not suffer fools gladly.
@JustinH definitely something they should’ve seen. probably the execs were fans and were too excited to bother thinking it through
@JustinH maybe they can replace it with "No Problems With Ellen Degeneres"
