The entrance to Glasgow City Halls on Candleriggs. This part of the building was created by John Carrick in 1885.

The lower section (where people were more likely to touch it) is made from harder wearing Pink Granite while the upper section is made from softer, easy-to-carve blonde Sandstone.

This is a feature commonly seen on older public and commercial builings in Glasgow.
