Love to install the latest version of #Blender and lose all my preferences, plug-ins, and settings if I didn’t click the one subtle button tucked in the corner of the ephemeral splash screen that appears only once, on first boot… which I didn’t! 😬
@jm3 They’re there still, just gotta dig them out of the last folder. (And yeah if you delete the current prefs folder, I think it will ask you again as @[email protected] hypothesized.)

Old instances of Blender aren't usually deleted, so it's possible to install a new one again, I guess?

@cestpasgrave feels like one shouldn’t need to redownload and reinstall a pretty big app just to regain access to something that’s still on one’s computer and that probably should have been loaded by default, but yes, I certainly could, you’re right.

Luckily a few folks clued me in that I can (I think) delete the newly created prefs folder and the little startup screen prompt button to reload the old prefs should re-appear! Going to try that
