🚨Is Corbyn planning to run as a #London Mayor candidate?🚨

Jeremy Corbyn has given his strongest hint yet that he may run for London Mayor – a move likely to spell defeat for Labour incumbent Sadiq Khan

Corbyn told guests at a birthday party: 'You're going to be seeing me around – I'm not going anywhere.'

But one of Corbyn's friends said he would prefer to stand again for Labour in his seat.

Mr Corbyn's office declined to comment. πŸ‘€

Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has hinted he may run for London Mayor against Labour's Sadiq Khan, whose ratings have been hit by the introduction of the Ulez charge in London.

@jackLondon

He's 74, & just like 71 year old Dianne Abbott, he can't leave politics alone. Like many before #Corbyn he's become intoxicated on power. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

He can't find a way back to becoming a #Labour candidate, so now he wants to cause further carnage for #Labour by possibly running for the London Mayoralty. πŸ™„

Looking at the positives, it further strengthens the #Starmer claim that Labour's a different party who've distanced themselves from the past.

It might just be a vote winner.

@jackLondon

We'll see. Corbyn's belched enough "I'm going nowhere" messages since the end of the #Labour Party Conference, that I wouldn't put anything past those in the #Corbynista cult.

They're just too scared to sod off to another party permanently, so they can put their vision for the #UK to the electorate.

@jackLondon

I sense this time things are different & more similar to Kinnock's battle with Militant.

The glitter incident could've sunk #Starmer, yet he & #Labour have made capital out of it by saying this proves the politics of protest is over, & the politics of power is almost upon us.

Starmer came out of Conference with a better party & public standing, with the left faring worse & becoming weaker.

It's not lost on me that #Corbyn was twice openly critical of Labour AFTER Conference. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

@jackLondon

The difference I've noted is in 92 & 97, the left settled down & looked at the bigger picture to secure power.

Whilst I sense similar this time around, there's definitely been a shift by #Labour to remove the extremist left who through #Momentum arrived with #Corbyn as leader, & left when he stood down, & again when losing the whip.

Those unwilling to toe the party line have been cut loose, with the remaining few knowing their fate if they return to the politics of protest.

@jackLondon

Many left in protest that #Corbyn was stitched up by the #Labour centre & the #Tories far right client media.

Many also left because they believed Labour would collapse without their support & membership. They expected Labour to come crawling on bended knee begging them to return, but the opposite happened.

The far left leaving, only made Labour more electable. Many now want to return, but on their terms & are now pissed because Labour no longer wants them, hence their anger. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

@jackLondon

1/ The far left were at pains to point out that party membership plummeted from 580k to 350k after #Cobyn departed.

I've had several discussions with #Corbynista's who told me they left because of Centrist treachery within #Labour against Corbyn, which cost him the election. 😳

Others cited the Forde Report, #Starmer himself, the 10 pledges & him deviating from Corbyn's losing 2019 manifesto, where previously he'd promised to stick with Corbynism if elected. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

@jackLondon

2/ Whatever their reasons, many want to return but are NOW angry that Labour neither wants nor needs them, ESPECIALLY as they're bafflingly saying their return MUST be on the left's terms? 😳

What terms? I don't think they've been watching the polls! They've told me their terms are a return for Corbyn & Abbott. Something to do with the Forde Report, the removal of the lying #Starmer & more far left representation at shadow cabinet level. 😳

@jackLondon

3/ They're utterly deluded & rage at the likes of me because I prefer Labour without these unhinged #Corbynistas stinking the place out. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

They forget that having record party membership under #Corbyn didn't stop #Labour being slaughtered at the 2019 General Election, which was the biggest political annihilation in recorded history.

They believe because they shout loudly, that everyone agrees with them. Most just can't be arsed getting into pointless cyclical arguments with them.
