Dear vis.social instance mates: I'm off to explore another part of the fediverse: Hachyderm.io! I've always known that vis.social wasn't the best fit for my obsessions--even said so in my intro message to admin, ha. But you all are truly fascinating, intelligent, kind folk, and that's made jumping to another instance a difficult move. Big thanks to @kristinHenry and @artcollisions for making me feel welcome, and to all of you for sharing interesting snippets of your life. I'll miss them.

@yelof @artcollisions don't forget to migrate and not just jump, unless you want to start over.

You can download your data, and move it to your new instance.

If I wasn't so sleepy, I could point you to a tutorial.

But one of the great things about mastodon is that you don't have to start over or abandon connections when you move to a new instance.

@kristinHenry You did, and I appreciate that. And that's very sweet---I honestly hesitated so many times on this move, because I truly enjoyed it here. It's really nice to know that I'm welcome back. Thanks again for everything.
