Predictably, the opening up of the full #PurpleLine on #NammaMetro in #Bangalore has caused a huge congestion during peak hours (👇🏽ToI).

#BMRCL says it needs more coaches to ease this congestion by increasing the frequency of trains & blames its Chinese vendor for the delay. 🧐

However, it’s the Indian government that has placed an “at least 75%” #MakeInIndia requirement and the Chinese company hasn’t been able to find a suitable manufacturing partner (apart from being hobbled by the pandemic, like all of us). 🤦🏽‍♂️

Chinese firm to supply Namma Metro coaches after four years of delay

After nearly four years after bagging a contract to supply Namma metro coaches, China-based company China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation will finally supply two trains by August this year.
