Currently making a playlist for long solo rides. It's currently 5 hours long. I probably won't be riding 5 hours any time soon, but it's good to have a playlist that plays slightly different everytime!

I also feel like my taste in music has stayed pretty much the same for about 10 years now... Of course, it has slightly changed by being informed through my previous musical career, and also the stuff I listened as a teen with friends. But mostly, it's the same.

Making a playlist brings me back to my highschool days, where I would be holed up in the computer room, spending hours upon hours sampling music by literally following wikipedia links of related musicians. I would always try to listen to the elements that kept me listening, and looked for more of those elements in other music.

Music discoverability these days is, to put it simply, treacherous. You hear about new songs through TikTok trends, or Spotify curates playlists for you, always taking into account the latest hits. Radios have a smaller and smaller pool of music that they play.
On the flip side, if you make a playlist on #Spotify, they actually recommend pretty dope songs to go in your own playlist. Tonight, I've made a huge list of artists I'd love to listen to.
