The #CSAM clusterfuck just became even more shitty:
Dutch researcher Danny Mekić has looked at #advertising data from #Twitter & says that the @EU_Commission's #DGHome has used #SurveillanceAds based on prohibited data categories to target people with #disinformation about the #ChatControl proposal.
#YlvaJohansson's department specifically targeted people in member states that had been critical of her proposal but excluded people who are likely to value #privacy.
I mean seriously, the Commissioner is supposed to listen to the people, not manipulate them to support her policies.
Plus, to me this sounds very much like a breach of Article 26(3) DSA by #Twitter.
Question is: Will the Commission investigate and penalise a breach of #DSA by a #VLOP when it is exposing its own political scandal?
Looks like @edri has hit a nerve: Commissioner #YlvaJohasson has responded on #Twitter claiming that #microtargeting people in carefully selected member states based on prohibited categories of personal data was "standard normal practice". 🤷♂️
@ilumium @edri doesn't mean @EU_Commission isn't breaking the laws nor that it's anti-democratic and evil.
