Texas?

Abandon all hope ye who enter here.

@ProPublica
Is a published list of Banned Titles w/ISBN number available to the public in Texas?

Can think of no better way to draw attention to those titles from a rebellious adolescent's point of view.

Talk about making a parent's job even harder.

Thought Texas was all about "Freedom & Liberty" though I never ask what they meant when saying those two words.

Silly me.

@ProPublica
“... unfortunately, we have seen more and more books that promote and support LBGTQ+ views ... exposing young children to adult topics. ... We want... children [to] hang on to their innocence....

... Implying that same-sex love is "adult" and "guilty". How this must poison the minds of kids who have LGBTQI+ kinfolk!

@hugh

that statement of theirs wrt "innocence" makes me think they can't possibly be teaching the bible to their students

@ProPublica

@ProPublica "We want to provide an environment where children can hang on to their innocence as long as possible.”

Extremely dangerous practice

@ProPublica

I just hope there's a website each title joins where you can read what the fascists don't want you to.

@ProPublica It is amazing the number of states that are in a mad rush to make themselves obsolete.

@ProPublica It would be one thing if conservatives were challenging the rather vague definition of pornography, i.e. "I know it when I see it." Maybe a more specific definition would be helpful.

But they aren't doing that. Instead they are using it to go after Black History and books about LGBT issues that are helpful for students who want to learn something without asking the Internet.
