Ok, so I've got nearly 3 decades of using and administrating #debian #Linux under my belt. I believe I'm fairly good at it.

But now I'm trying to configure a 50€ mikrotik router, trying to make head or tails of the abysmal documentation and am failing to simply open up the SSH port for remote access.

They actually want me to use some crappy windows application on Wine .

This is madness. I don't have that kind of time to waste. I suppose I'll switch to OpenWRT.

@madhersh if I recall the web interface provides everything you need. There is even a shell of sorts to run configuration commands in directly. It’s definitely a poor UI though.
