Not a 🚆 revolution but still very good news: direct train from Amsterdam to Copenhagen from December 2025.

Current trip is >10 hrs and involves min 2 changes.

This is an improvement. Now let’s work to reduce the duration, and have a high frequency and low price 🇩🇰 🇩🇪 🇳🇱

New direct train connection between Amsterdam and Copenhagen as of 2025

For those who would like to arrive faster in Copenhagen to see the breathtaking architecture or eat delicious cinnamon buns, can look forward to the new rail connection of the Danish Railways (DSB). That's because DSB is planning a direct train between Amsterdam and Copenhagen in 2026. This schedule will begin in mid-December 2025, Treinreiziger.nl reports.

That would be *so nice* (as I wait on the platform in Copenhagen for an already delayed train that is not going directly to Hamburg and will probably therefore miss all my onward connections on the way to Amersfoort...)

@claesdevreese in principle would also open up the Eurostar connection to London too.

@Ruth_Mottram I think that requires reversing brexit, or the UK signing up specially to Eurostat.

Until then we'll have to live with the UK being greyed out on all the published maps

Eurostar still runs, though at about a third the capacity.
