a New York Times writer is mad that you won't pay for his newspaper's transphobia and constant push to send your kids to war
@drewtoothpaste Even the email he's asking for is too much to pay - they're going to sell the address and then the inbox will be flooded with spam and scams. No fucking thanks.
@mjc0961 @drewtoothpaste ^^^this

if i could just put cash into a slot in my (or, better yet, someone else's) computer or something with no commitment, no tracking, no followup, i'd probably spend a lot more money on online stuff than i do now

heck, i'm way more likely to respond to someone's begpost on here than give anything to a registered nonprofit just because folks here aren't going to fill my physical mailbox with promo stuff for the rest of my life

@apophis Ugh, the physical stuff in my mailbox pisses me off so much.

"You donated once, we spent money making tote bags and mailing labels for you, please send us more money"

How about instead of making and shipping junk I didn't ask for, you spend the money helping whoever your charity is meant to help? I have never donated more after receiving physical junk.

@mjc0961 oh it’s even worse if you donate any kind of animal rights group. They mail stuff with photos or descriptions of graphic violence to try to get more $ and it’s traumatizing. I don’t want to see that every time I go to my mailbox. And you’re right, they must spend more than the money I donate to them to send me solicitations for more money. Can they just not? I had to stop doing it because the depictions of violence in my mailbox was upsetting.

I never knew I was a terrorist! I always toss it as soon as I get that junk! And don't subscribe to any magazines!

@mjc0961 @apophis
I bought a $60 PBS passport so we could stream Mystery! shows, and I just can't wait for the new onslaught of appeals.
