@vacuumbeef I received feedback from a player that I should make the tip text for the 'turtles stop on carrots' actually appear when it's first needed. It makes sense because right now the tip is shown in a level that doesn't require you to do that. So I plan to make that change.
From the play tests I did I believe there's only one way to solve it so no need I think. I was more curious how long it took you to beat it and if it was frustrating / challening etc 😁
@avivlevy ah I thought it was said when carrots appeared. Yeah, it would be good.
I spent maybe 15 minutes. But because before finally beating 14 I was forgetting about carrot-stop, I'm not really sure what level was most difficult haha.
When I see a game like that I wonder how devs came up with level design in first place. I mean, I always think that making tough puzzles is more difficult then solving it (I'm not saying it's easy for me, it's absolutely not), what can you say about that?
@vacuumbeef oh, carrots are always there. I meant it should show when you first actually need to use carrots to stop turtles.
15 minutes is actually great.
I think it really depends on the complexity of the puzzles and on the methods used. In this case most puzzles were easy to create because they're not very complex. Levels 14+ were a bit more time consuming and level 17 was very tough and took more than an hour to make
You are the player of the levels you make, so it could be as tough to solve as it is to create... Solving the level is part of creating the level. More than half of the time spent on level 17 was actually me trying to come up with a way to solve it.
For Xensopore, I actually spent weeks on making the levels. Those were very hard to make...
@avivlevy I got stuck at level 11 for now, but: Good job! :)
Two (very) minor things:
- In the main menu I was unsure which color marked the "selected" item. I assumed it was white, but it turned out I was wrong. :(
- In-game the speaker icon only changes after I pressed M two (!) times. So if I mute the icon stays unchanged, but once I unmute the icon changes and then (falsely) displays as muted. (web version, if it matters)
@njamster Cool! Thanks for playing and for the feedback 😁
- Main Menu Color - I was aware of this issue when I made the menu actually, and it's something I'll definitely fix if I make a post-jam version.
- Speaker - pressing once will only mute the music, pressing twice will mute both music and sfx. I did that in an after-thought so I didn't have time to adjust the icon accordingly. Again, this is something that will be fixed in a post jam version.
