@shysaursoft I think it is just an artifact of the particular neural network / deep fake tech this used. There are different quality levels and also different ways to train it. High quality deep fake is being used successfully in Hollywood VFX for de-aging for years now, so it will likely come to games.
@BenHouston3D @[email protected] the sort of de-aging that’s been done in film vfx over the last several years is generally not using NNs- mostly CG, roto/paint, com, a lot of more traditional manual techniques. Even the cases more recently where deepfake-ish tech has been used it’s been as a small part of the whole in conjunction with these other techniques too, the quality is not there on its own (yet?)
