The thing to remember—and I know I’m beginning to sound like a broken record here—is that the bumbling and incompetence of the GOP is not a glitch, but rather a feature. Incompetence won’t derail them, as some may think, because the objective now is not to govern effectively, but rather to break the mechanisms of democratic governance entirely.
You might wonder WHY? What’s to be gained through these failures? Why aren’t they taking advantage of their position?
I keep saying this: breaking our democratic institutions is the GOP’s way of demoralizing the electorate. The mission is to convince people that the system is so rotten and dysfunctional that it’s no longer worth preserving or fighting for.
It’s about discrediting what they hope you will then abandon.
It’s about softening us up for subsequent usurpation of the Constitution.
It’s a slow moving coup.
If you’re asking, “Why don’t the Republicans take advantage of their majority in the House to get something done, i.e., advance their agenda?” Then you’re missing the point. The agenda right now is to NOT get things done.
And once the system is fully paralyzed you can be sure they’ll move quickly to replace it with something more to their liking. Something more primal.

@xankarn Funny how codifying Roe v Wade was "not a priority" for that list. That much-lauded infrastructure bill was a gift to fossil fuel companies dressed up with greenwashing. And the USPS is still doomed.
One thing I do know, that most people seem to have never noticed or forgotten, is what they did to Bernie in 2016. I was in Philly for the DNC. And then Bernie rolled over, too, like a good little sheepdog.
Establishment Dems would rather feed us to Republicans than help us. They are going to pretend to fight, and then they will FEED US to the very monsters they want us to fear. On purpose. With a bow on top. They would rather see this country burn-- shit, the whole planet while we're at it-- than risk their purse strings.

3C is coming. That's halfway to the opposite of an ice age. And it's coming fast.
Even fever dreams can't conjure the scale of this nightmare. Billions will die. To put the brakes on that in any meaningful way, we'd have to turn all industry and policy upside down. The Paris Accords and COP conference etc etc are a joke-- an insult, an obscenity. Plutocrats are shuffling papers and pretending to look busy, jockeying to secure the best private islands and private armies they'll use to hide while they watch the world burn.
We've already wasted more than half a century playing the duopoly's games and hoping for incremental change. We're out of time.
