Thank you to YouTube commenters for bringing up the Swedish Calendar already 9 years ago, so I don't have to. =)
@eaton @nctrost Can't see that without thinking about the evergreen "Falsehoods About Time" list.

@eaton @nctrost Days since our last Unicode issue: O
@eaton @nctrost (yes I know this is not actually a Unicode issue also my mom has horror stories)
@eaton @nctrost I feel that number should not be an integer, say -1.223 days
@eaton @nctrost I missed not one but two online events because of this earlier this year. Thanks DST.
@eaton @nctrost Does that also apply to people who write it down wrong without understanding? Like attempting to coordinate a new meeting between parties, but writing EDT in winter and EST in summer?

@eaton @nctrost

Shiver me timbers. I know of ye speak.

@eaton @nctrost screw this timezone, month, day bullcrap . Let’s adopt Unix timestamp as universal date time around the globe and call everything < 1 bc as in before civilization as there was none before Unix. Just barbarians with stone axes! damit!
@eaton @nctrost and why should I be sentenced to fixing bugs just to accommodate a measly few billion people unwilling to memorize and increment 10 digits…
@eaton @nctrost I’m in Mountain Time. Most people in Pacific and Eastern won’t mention their time zone and most people in Mountain will write MST all year, despite the fact that most of the year that is Arizona time and not Idaho time. It drives me crazy. I also have a system I check for audits that does some time entries in Eastern Time and some in Mountain. You need context to tell which it is.
@eaton @nctrost I've said it before, I'll say it again:
Vote me planetary governor and DST will be banned, and nowhere is allowed offsets from UTC at anything but full hour increments, and nowhere lower than the Arctic circle is allowed to be more than 1½ hour from local solar time.
@eaton @nctrost Yeah, I used to think Joda time (and java time) were needlessly complex. And maybe they still are, but not by as wide a margin as I originally thought.

Also,

Milliseconds since some one used the system clock to measure performance: -100ms

@eaton @nctrost @saralobkovich I found an advantage to this just yesterday…or today?

Flew from Hong Kong to LAX and left at 12:05am. Quickly did Sunday Wordle when we pushed back.

Landed at LAX and redid Saturday Wordle because it only checks if you did the puzzle TODAY. And my phone went from tomorrow to today so the cookie said I hadn’t done it Saturday.

Then this morning redid Sunday Wordle in 1 try and looked like a genius to my family.
