I'm really really digging the new #AnimalCollective album #IsntItNow. Their 2010's kind of lost their way a bit (I did like Centipede Hz a lot, but many didn't) With last years Time Skiffs they seemed to have entered a renaissance with their 11th album. Both Time Skiffs and Isn't It Now were written during the same song writing sessions in a cabin in Tennessee. of the Covid restrictions at the time, so they had to record all their parts remote individually. Due to the complications that come with that, they chose the easier songs to record for the album Time Skiffs. This album was recorded like a normal album AND they hired Russel Elevado to co-produce and mix it which really shows in the final product. Then Heba Kadry mastered it.

Is this the most hi-fi sounding recording? No, but it's better than most of what comes out of the indie music scene due to its DIY nature. The drums sound great on this btw.

Anyway, check this out if you are at all a fan. It almost feels like a throwback to Feels.
