Any #ADHD people out there have a particular problem with opening mail, especially if it’s personal mail? If you send me a personal letter, it may be a few days before I open it.

If it’s a Christmas card and I have a lot of them to open, I may not open any of them until after Christmas.

I’ve come to understand this is just a form of procrastination because something about personal mail creates emotional dissonance. I’ve always been like this even when I was a prolific personal letter writer myself when I was younger.

This isn’t as much of an issue with email, though I occasionally do also feel like I don’t have the time or energy to open certain email.

@sysop408 I don't even empty out my mailbox unless the mailman tells me it's too stuffed to put any more letters inside.

@sysop408 As a neurotypical (I think thats the term lol) I do that quite often with digital mail or messages, although it also has partly to do with keeping the unread status so I don't forget to respond

I don't get practically any letters (mostly govt or bank stuff) tho, so I cant talk about that :P
