@notjustbikes Have you ever been to the Basque region of Spain? Maybe not Dutch levels of transportation beauty, but maybe close to Swiss? Always like to see tram tracks through grass.
@synth23 Except Donostia, which seems to be impossible to get to w/o a car? Absolutely beautiful region & people, nonetheless!
@shipscrewunscrewer @synth23 oh no! Donostia has an astounding bike infrastructure (minus the number of red lights for bikes), the last 2 pictures are from Donostia. I would say that it's actually slower moving by car, because the roads in Donostia are usually very congested. Also, when there's construction they care about giving a viable path to cyclists. Let's hope that adding the (mini) subway in 2024 (I hope) improves the situation.
@markelfe @synth23 Oh sorry I formulated that badly, I meant the public transport. I was looking at options to get there again for a conference at the end of October, and for some reason the only options were taking a major detour with the train or a slow bus
@shipscrewunscrewer @synth23 Yeah, the only train options are changing from the high-speed train in Bayonne to the regional Euskotren line. However, there's a high-speed train incoming (Y vasca) that should (hopefully) solve that (France has connections with Bilbao and Donostia in their 2030 strategy)
@markelfe @synth23 Ah that should make things easier! Thank you!
