@hacks4pancakes

I have settings in the dock cuz apple doesnt have a nice way to get to it...

WTH

@dustinfinn I’m sorry but very bad vibes, why do you need to change your Wi-Fi settings so much 😅

@hacks4pancakes

I am definitely not gonna understand this much ...

but when apple stopped the behavior from the control screen to turn off BT and WiFi - so now you have to do it in the settings screen - I just want to move to settings quick.

I dunno... I really didnt see this as being bad.

I for sure need some more insight...

@dustinfinn it’s right here
@dustinfinn swipe your finger top right to bottom left

@hacks4pancakes

The WiFi and BT icons under the Airplane and Cellular icon do not turn off BT and WiFi.

It just disconnects.

I need to see if I am misunderstanding a shortcut swipe - swiping at all from top right down brings up the control center in your photo.

@dustinfinn sure, just not sure why you would ever realistically need to turn them off all the way (airplane mode on control center does shut off everything)
@dustinfinn if you want to turn them off all the way you can just hold press on control center too. Never a need for the setting icon for it.

@hacks4pancakes

wowza I am feeling really dense..

I must have something set up differently and I need to check.

hitting Airplane mode - leaves BT and WiFi on and connected.

hitting BT and WiFi icons in control center leave WiFi and BT on, just not connected to current WiFi.

Holding them down brings up WiFi and BT connections - but I still dont see a way to turn it off...

@dustinfinn hold press on Wi-Fi. Hold press on Wi-Fi again. I am on a plane and I can’t take a video, I’m really sorry. By default, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth shut off in airplane mode but you can change that.

@hacks4pancakes

I greatly appreciate your back and forth with me - so I will go back through settings and see - I am not getting that behavior so I'll have to see where I am totally missing this.

@hacks4pancakes I must not have that setup then. I’ll have to find it.

@hacks4pancakes

Nothing I see in control center turns it off.

And if I want to avoid anything with any and WiFi being active - I generally want it Off and not disconnected.

And after what I experienced with people spamming the BT stuff - I’ve pretty much wanted to turn things off.

@dustinfinn I promise promise promise the second long press on control center brings you to the shutoff option. It’s impossible to reconfigure that.
@dustinfinn it’s in your video at the bottom of the menu. Takes you directly to the off setting

@hacks4pancakes

got it - knew I was being dense a bit...

so - a swipe and a few strokes more than just having access to settings in the bottom dock.

i get it.

@dustinfinn sure, but only if there’s nothing more important to have in your dock, like messages, calls, signal, email…

@hacks4pancakes yep. Understood for sure.

Phone / messages / mail / settings

Maybe I move settings now :)

Join the cool folks :) (lol - kidding)

Safe travels !

@hacks4pancakes @dustinfinn

Yep Lesley is absolutely correct.

Swiping diagonally starting at the top right moving down to the left will bring up the task screen. Easy peasy.
