The genuine confusion you feel when almost the entire world loves #LoveBetweenFairyandDevil and you detest it to the depths of your very being. 😆 🙃
But that's par the course for me - I tend to dislike very popular dramas. Disliked Ashes of Love too. Two things are deal breakers for me: An infantile female lead & terrible acting.
When you have both together, well, that show doesn't stand a chance with me lol.

TIL that #MyDramaList has a "not interested" category. Sounds like another one to add to my list, thanks!
@EllenInEdmonton I don't know, LBFAD seems to be very polarising. Some really adore it, some really hate it. I think it really depends on your personal preferences. I have a very certain taste and they often don't come together for popular shows. So, try it! You may love it.

As you said, "an infantile female lead & terrible acting.

Same, sister!!
@EllenInEdmonton haha can't fight with you on this one lol. The love for the show was frankly puzzling to me.

@liztai @EllenInEdmonton
I've watched some of it, and I mostly am meh/vaguely curious about where it's going.

So far, the best part was the temporary role/body switch -- which like, in general, having a reason to have one actor act like another character in the same show, from possession to body switching, is an entire category of tropes I like.

Plus the subversion in both of the actors playing opposite their char's design.

I kinda would have liked that to have been more of the show overall.

@glitchontwitch @EllenInEdmonton TBH those scenes turned me off because I felt like the actors didn't play it well. But yeah, the whole show just didn't work for me, though more power to those who love it.

@liztai @EllenInEdmonton Oh, to clarify, I didn't say it had to be *well acted* for me to like that set of tropes. It's just one of those I like, and admittedly even when it's done poorly. (Though when it's done great it's even better.)

And in this context, it was more like: the characters were more interesting to me when swapped.

And I had, in the moment, hoped they'd do something interesting with that. But it was dropped real fast. Before they could even confuse other chars!

@liztai

Ex: I had imagined, maybe even, an arc where he had to pretend to be her, and how he would handle the casual mistreatment she experienced from some of the people back home.

Meanwhile, her having to actively evade the guy she has a crush on, because he's convinced she's the enemy.

Would have been more interesting (to me, ymmv) than what we got when they returned.
