@kitchen As for the "does it Tailscale?” question, the answer appears to be yes:

But doing it seems like it’s more of a hassle than I want to go through.
@boogah if you used tailscale you could just ftp and telnet and wireguard does the encryption :D plus then it has a "static" ip when it's connected
I'd be much more worried about the open ports even ssh especially since 99.9% of the time I'm connecting my kindle to wifi it's some hotel or coffee shop or train station or whatever
@kitchen NickelMenu will let you set up toggles for your services. Which I still plan on using when I get SSH added to the device. I'd just rather forget that I left SSH on than forget that I left telnet or FTP on.
