Unless they have some sort of “steam deck only” matchmaking, but even then it’s just not made for controller.

There’s a gyro with several ways to handle it, including flick, which does take a little time to get used to, but works really well as a mouse substitution for such an environment. Some people are just that good with a thumbstick as well and can easily enjoy casual gamemodes.
Steam Deck is a capable beast, even for a game like Counter-Strike.
Yeah back when I played OW I regularly did console in PC lobbies (friends were PC) and I had no problem holding my own. Obviously I had a ceiling but it was from unplayable as many make it out to be.
Yes CS is faster and M+K has a higher advantage, but not everyone is trying to go pro lol
I’d say in this instance there’s a massive difference between CS and OW tbh.
I can believe that you could do well and enjoy OW on controller vs M+K, as the game gives you a lot of tools that reduce the need for good aim.
In CS, I just can’t see how you’d work around that though. To each their own, but I don’t see how CS could ever be enjoyable on controller vs K+M.
As I said, CS is clearly more sensitive to the console/m+k divide. My point is you can still play it. I play CS on Xbox for years (there were dozens of us!)
