@EugeneMcParland Italienischer an embarrassment.

@EugeneMcParland

This spring I dropped inquiries to German retailers what they think about having Mondelez in their portfolio.

The latter paying taxes in Russia, the former raising money for pro-Ukrainian charity projects or somehow claiming high moral standards.

Retailers' replies were all evasive, but Mondelez beat them all: thoughts and prayers.

In the end only money counts, not ethics. Only if they lose more money outside Russia than they make inside, companies will leave.

@EugeneMcParland So way more than half of companies. That 67% number is huge! Helps to remember that East Germany existed not so long ago, and its fall plays a significant role in pulter’s world view, as well as many living in the east. I think to understand Schulz’s “scholzing”, one needs to widen the frame beyond discussion of cowardice and red lines.
