@moondog548 @dangillmor I agree with you here. News is mostly big business. Businesses care about their bottom line and not so much about how they get there ethically. It’s like expecting META to do the right thing. There are a few independent news sources that report it like they see it, but they are few and far between.

@dangillmor We did the right thing in the 2020 election that removed Trump from office and put Biden in the Oval Office. But that isn't enough because we also allowed some congress seats to go to MAGA cultists such as Majorie, Loebert, Geatz, etc. So, we must push harder than we did in 2020. Yes, it's an uphill battle, but it is possible as long as we ensure that our votes count by not wasting them by giving them to third parties such as the Tea Party or the Independent.

@dangillmor It's unlikely they will. Most of the major news corporations got rid of their older, more experienced journalists, to replace them with green cadets who cost them less, and don't ask awkward questions about why the editorials are now all toeing the Murdoch party line.

@dangillmor if democracy is broken or at least not delivering what people want (or are told they want) then they will turn to dictatorship. The message should not be that Trump is a dictator but about how democracy can be revived and how to solve the real problems the country is facing. Slagging off the opposition is never an adequate argument

@dangillmor who ever said that they don't realize this? Journalists have merely become pawns for the autocrats who own them...if they're not, then the publishers and editors who give the final draft approvals ensure their stories meet the 'criteria'.

@dangillmor When did we lose sight that the government is by the people and for the people? The President of the United States may be one of the most powerful offices in the world, but the President is still supposed to serve the people.

Trump seems to think President of the United States means King of the World. He got mad when he realized that just because he was Commander and Chief, the military won’t just obey his every whim.

He’s both incompetent and has main character syndrome, a very dangerous mix. One of our biggest failures as a country was voting him into office. Here’s hoping we’ve learned from that mistake and not do it again.
