Best known for his otherworldly pyrotechnics, Adrian Belew should also be regarded as a top-notch rhythm guitarist.

A part of his genius is revealed by how he makes these skills very related.

Be still my heart.
The way Tina wiggles her butt as she plays is adorable.

The performance is stellar, but also—unlike That Other One—this one is not mainly about David Byrne and, uh…whoever.

This is a fucking killer BAND.

(Also, less cocaine, I suspect.)

This was MY Talking Heads.

Release this in 4K, you cowards.

Also, “Exit: Stage Left.”

Thanking you in advance.

@hotdogsladies there are a couple valiant attempts to upscale Exit: Stage Left songs by the hoi polloi out there. Just makes me want a real official release more though.
@stoneymonster Sing it, sister.
@hotdogsladies It took me many years into my Rush fandom to finally see the movie that went with the album. For all that time I imagined them in their full 70s getups. I thought it was hilarious when I finally watched it and saw them in blazers and skinny ties. To this day I have trouble picturing it when listening to the album.
@hotdogsladies the sound is so muddy, but it’s still my favorite live Rush album.
@hotdogsladies my vhs tapes are grainy as all get out!
Talking Heads Live in Rome, 1980: The Concert Film You Haven’t Seen

Few bands can boast a performance so image-defining as the one the Talking Heads pulled off in Jonathan Demme's Stop Making Sense.

Open Culture
@hotdogsladies Live in Rome has the best version of “Crosseyed and Painless” I have heard from Talking Heads.
“Stop Making Sense” is great and all, but I need this concert remastered ASAP
@hotdogsladies And dang, that version of “Born Under Punches”
I will have to watch the whole thing again sometime soon
@hotdogsladies Gonna run this tomorrow while making sure my papers are in order. Thanks.
@hotdogsladies Reccomended: Find a video of him telling the David Bowie/Frank Zappa story
@hotdogsladies A friend sent me this very link years ago with the message: “Adrian Belew’s guitar kills small animals”.
@hotdogsladies i’ve been rather obsessed with watching as many live performances of This Must be The Place recently 😊
@sinky Oh that's a goodie. One of their real sleepers.
