When we were in Chicago recently (which Iām fortunate to be able to visit not infrequently) I learned about Harold Washington, the first African American mayor in the US, and the Council Wars he first in his first term.

I also learned for the first time about the race riots of 1919[1], which took place in Chicago and many other places across America.
In Chicago a white man threw stones at Eugene Williams, who drowned, when he crossed the segregation line between white and non-white areas.
Black Lives Matter.
This is not hard: everyone deserves the chance to live authentically.
You may disagree, but know that you are wrong and live on the wrong side of history.
