We need more projects like this, highlighting politicians right for the job and who put their community first.

Harold Washington was the first black mayor of the city of Chicago, a city created by a black man. He challenged President Reagan’s dismantling of Voting Rights and was loved by the city.

A movie about his time in office would show people that the right people do exist.

When we were in Chicago recently (which I’m fortunate to be able to visit not infrequently) I learned about Harold Washington, the first African American mayor in the US, and the Council Wars he first in his first term.
