Goodbyes and Hellos. #Caturday #CatsOfMastodon

It’s now just a bit over 2 months since Lizzie (Orion) passed. She was feral when she chose us, and just decided to never leave. And we were proud to give her a home and be her family. She was a wonderful being.

And we’re were incredibly touched by the animal hospital that tended the care of her cremains.

But…..

….We continued to feel the weight of a cat-sized hole in our home, so…with no disrespect to the memory of Lizzie (Orion), within a few weeks we had a couple of new additions to our family. I adopted Ms. Daphne Jamal (tuxedo cat), a skittish rescue with a traumatic history, but is quickly becoming a cuddle bug, and my daughter adopted Tofu Jamal, a young cat that is fully grown, but very diminutive, she is a very active acrobatcat. Cute as a button. #Caturday #CatsOfMastodon

@lgonse Yes. We’ve had the tradition of giving our cats the middle name “Jamal” as a nod to Pokémon, of which my kid is long endeared. The Pokémon tagline is “Gotta catch ‘em all”, which when spoken sounds like “Got a cat, Jamal”.
