@mlanger I’m just glad to have good insurance and a hospital nearby. At my last job I would have worried about the cost a lot more.

@ingalls

It's horrible that we have to think about the cost of an emergency room visit before decided whether to get help. After paying $1600 for a bloody nose, I’ll be very careful about what I go to the hospital for.

The worse thing for me: my insurance probably doesn't cover me at all in the states I'll be traveling to over the next two years. That means that if I get sick, I'll have to be transported back to WA for care.

@mlanger @ingalls That’s terrifying.

I give my wife a hard time for how often she needs to see a doctor because I’m out a $40 copay each time.

Can’t imagine paying $1600.

@mlanger @ingalls oof, I'm worried about the reverse situation - I just started a job based in the DC area, but I'm remote (also WA). Immediately ruled out most of my employer's insurance options because they required that your PCP is in the DC metro area. Hoping that the one option I had left (of course, the most expensive one) won't cause difficulties.
