I am deeply concerned about the ways that journalists are normalizing Pierre Polivere's words, or in some cases his explicit lack of them, when it comes to the actions of some Canadians against the LGBTQ2S+ community in our country. Canada is a progressive nation. We have enshrined our values in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We cannot allow ourselves to normalize fascistic beliefs if we want to protect those among us who are least able to protect themselves.

@CanadianCrone, it’s the independent journalists, like @thetyee, @thenarwhal, @readthemaple, https://canadianaffairs.news and others who can help to shine the light into the dark corners where fascism lives. The legacy media organizations like the National Post, The Star, The Gazette, and others are too influenced by conservative advertisers to help much.
