@PostcardsFromParadise @novid The research and testing on double masking shows it to be at best a wash and often a reduction in protection.

It's not about the efficacy of the filter material, as most N95/KN95/KF94 models test above their minimum ratings. It's about the face seal, because the filter only works if the air's going through it. Adding another mask on top frequently disrupts the seal of the one in contact with the face, which means more leakage and lower overall protection.

@PostcardsFromParadise @novid Since the Aura isn't a good fit, my next suggestions would be the Dräger 1950 Small and 3M VFlex 9105s. The 1950 makes a better seal on many faces that get gaps & leaks in an Aura. Alternatively, the small VFlex fits even smaller faces than the 1950. Despite also fitting larger faces, the full-size VFlex can sometimes be a better fit than the Aura just by the different shape. VFlex & 1950 also both open vertically which handles jaw motion better without leaking.

@PostcardsFromParadise I understand you've got the Powecoms now, so maybe these options will wait til the next time you need to order.

I would still recommend that you avoid double masking, though. Better to do what you can to make the seal of the one mask as solid as possible.
