#UX designer = free roaming trouble maker (historically)

Product designer = subservient cog in a product delivery process

(Yes I feel like kicking the wasp nest this morning 😉 )

The rise of the #productDesign title feels like it comes about from the industrialisation and commodification of #design and the design-ification of #product and the rest of business.

Design as a profession feels like it's losing here. But more good design is probably being done, so maybe it's a win.

@edeverett Product Design predates UX design by a significant period. Its use in software development is borrowed from the more general term. I agree it's much more company oriented as it focuses on the creation of a product rather than the experience of the user but I'm not sure I agree one is better than the other. That's more about what you do with it.
