It’s just so funny that there are bootlickers out there saying “so these aUto WoRkerS want to work just four days a week?? For the same pay!?!”
Yeah man. We all do. Please grow up and realize most people don’t want to spend their lives at work.

If you look at productivity growth since the 1970s, a 20 hour week should be easy to manage.
But it's all gone to billionaires' yachts* and giant SUVs which hasn't really made any of us happier.
* And, more to the point, to billionaires' increasing control over every aspect of our lives.
@joshuaphilll sweetie, if you're surprised people don't want to spend their waking hours working, you need a hobby.
I have good experiences with knitting, hiking, camping, running a bookclub, fiction writing, and writing notes to world leaders to protest executions.
@joshuaphilll Blaming the auto workers has been going on a very long time.
Over 50 years ago, as a teen, my mind was poisoned (since cleansed) against unions.
Why?
Because those "lazy ass auto workers" were making 3-4 times the hourly wage of anyone I knew, and ... and ... they didn't have to work very hard.
Oh, and let's mention corrupt union management to complete the brainwashing.
Aigh! Luckily, I learned the truth in my 20s and strongly believe in and support unions and unionization.
@joshuaphilll I have been on a 9/80 schedule for the past 5 years and just having that one day every other week to get all the life stuff done when others are working is pretty awesome. Other than that I really love the work that I do but I work hard to weave it into the fabric of my interests and hobbies outside of work.
Even though 9/80 means working more on long weeks, I can tell you that most people do not. They just work and push a bit more on short weeks.
work less, live more
The #UAW members want, among other things, a 32-hour work week. While still getting paid for 40 hours. This is not as far-fetched as it seems at first glance. Basically, it would be the equivalent of a 25% increase in hourly wage, which isn't that far from what the #BigThree are already offering. The City of #Montreal's #BlueCollar employees went through a similar situation in the '90s. Once the Union demonstrated it resulted in actual savings for the employer, it was adopted.
@joshuaphilll @mainframed767 I can't deny being taken aback when I hear it, but there are those who seek refuge in their workplace as time to be away from their significant other.
Not my thing, but it's out there.
