Now on the station platform and an eastbound train is approaching and I got the counter set up. 85-110 dB standing directly next to this train passing me at 50-60mph! From my apartment it’s usually 60 dB.

@capntransit @danielsolow American cities are so full of noise pollution! There seems to be almost nothing done about this very real and significant problem.
@db @capntransit I think we need to start by asking ourselves what we as a society are willing to tolerate. Above 60 dbs I have trouble getting a restful sleep. Can't even imagine what the levels are under an elevated train or under a flight path are
