Comparing LanguageTool and Grammarly with user insights and more information.

It's FOSS News
@itsfoss #LanguageTool - I wish it was made in to a #Flatpak.
@Siucraym @itsfoss
It's an (browser) extension, not an application to install on Linux, I believe.
Hi. @karnasubarna Do you know if the Firefox addon is open-source? It just says "All Rights Reserved" for the License at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/languagetool. That seems odd when the actual program itself is FOSS.
Grammar and Spell Checker - LanguageTool – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)

Download Grammar and Spell Checker - LanguageTool for Firefox. With this extension you can check text with the style and grammar checker LanguageTool. It finds many errors that a simple spell checker cannot detect, like mixing up there/their, a/an, or repeating a word.

@Siucraym
As per my knowledge, it NO longer is.
@karnasubarna That's a pity. šŸ˜ž

@Siucraym

You can install Language tool server on your system, and configure the addon to connect with it.
In that way, your data will remain within your own network.

I’m running my server over docker on my Raspberry 4.

@karnasubarna @Siucraym @itsfoss No, it is also an off-line desktop application (standalone, or useable in #thunderbird, #kmail, #libreoffice …). This version does not provide the AI features of the web version.

They provide details on how to install it.
