Mastodon running on an Apple IIc at the @mediaarchaeologylab!!!
@mediaarchaeologylab I love that this is the sort of thing the fediverse community is doing, rather than, say, making VC pitch decks
@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab Nice work, Nathan!

@spike @ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab Now we just need to set up an account for the Apple //c on a server.

Would love to learn more about how you did this.

@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab That was my first laptop!
@jann @ntnsndr love it when the //c is described as a laptop ๐Ÿ˜†
@mediaarchaeologylab @ntnsndr Hey! Do "laptops" HAVE to have a screen? ๐Ÿ˜‚
@jann @ntnsndr it is definitely *technically* portable

@mediaarchaeologylab @ntnsndr Well, I used to call my Mac Portable: "luggable".

This was def more portable than THAT! ๐Ÿ˜‰

@mediaarchaeologylab It did have an actual handle on the back of it (this was my/my-family's first computer)
@mediaarchaeologylab Especially if you're not including the monitor. ๐Ÿ˜„

@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab Love to see it, ah nostalgia, slightly beautiful, slightly painful.

We had one of these in school and we did lessons with Pascal and I may be misremembering but maybe Logo as well (maybe that's a different memory).

@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab
great, my second PC,
first one was Zinclair ZX80 and TV as Monitor.
@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab is this program available to download?
I might test it on mine
@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab my first "portable" computer! It even had a handle! ๐Ÿคฃ
@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab Awesome! Wonder if I could pull this off from an #OhioScientific C1P ๐Ÿ‘€

@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab @noellemitchell

That was my college computer in 1987. I had one of the only printers on the hall and everyone wanted to print their papers at 2am when the computer lab was closed. I gave it to my brother a few years later along with all the floppy disks and he thanked me for getting him some good grades because he reused my papers.

@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab that'll definitely not run crysis
@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab โ€” amazing! I love this so much!
@ntnsndr @mediaarchaeologylab Mastodon is the Doom of social media

@muzej

You'd probably like this! :D What a cool idea, how cute! :P
