This Chakotay and Seven thing is just bad.

Yes, those Chakotay/Seven conversations are not very good. I wasn't a fan of their relationship since the '90s.

@petertrek1 @MirrorAyako @allstartrek I find so many Star Trek relationships as weird/icky. Miles and Keiko and Tom and B'Elanna are the two that stand out as being well written.

Chakotay/Seven just seems...so wrong.

@ColesStreetPothole @petertrek1 @MirrorAyako @allstartrek In retrospect, Seven's focus on Chakotay is how we should have known she's actually gay.

Lol! That’s a good observation. There was absolutely no chemistry. There was tons of chemistry between Doc and Seven. That was huge missed opportunity.

@MirrorAyako @strange_new_words @petertrek1 @allstartrek I would have even preferred her and a now more mature and confident Harry to have rocked each other's worlds. It would have made sense, considering the "I'm not ready for this yet" nature of his early relationship with her.

I have a confession, though—Chakotay's character has never really engaged me, for much of the series he seemed like an empty uniform, or a manikin.

Chakotay could have been a good Trek character but considering he was the First Officer, he didn't get too many good story arcs. It was a missed opportunity.

Oh no guys! I like Chakotay. He was the one who held the crew together. I especially liked his close friendship with B’elanna.

@MirrorAyako @petertrek1 @ColesStreetPothole @strange_new_words @allstartrek he's my nominee for worst bridge character on any Trek series. Genuinely curious who others think is worse.

Least fave from each series:
TOS: Not enough to choose from; if I had to choose, maybe Bones
TNG: Troi (I know this will get me hate mail)
DS9: Bashir
VOY: Kes (though I liked mean Kes 😁 )
@MirrorAyako @firewyre @petertrek1 @strange_new_words @allstartrek There are so few regular characters, so few episodes in TOS compared to the others. After many rewatches, I realized that Bones is often cranky, annoying, and even racist at times. But then again, Kirk is a sexist womanizing pig, so maybe I'll retract what I say about Bones. 😂
@firewyre @MirrorAyako @petertrek1 @ColesStreetPothole @strange_new_words @allstartrek oh no. I quite liked Chakotay. Worst Bridge officer? Definitely the weapons officer with the british accent on Enterprise? So bad.

My vote goes to Saru. I hate him. I feel bad saying it cause he's a good character, and all accounts say the actor is an awesome guy, but he doesn't belong on the bridge. He's too timid and bureaucratic. Too much thinking and deciding, when the situation calls for action. He'd make a good ship's councilor. My judgment may be clouded due to my dislike of DIS, so take it for what it's worth(nothing).
