I quite enjoyed Confessions of An Aging Twink at #vanfringe. Yes, just another one-man gay musical comedy at the Fringe, but how many of them end with a Mary Poppins parody song?
Somehow I ended up seeing *two* one-man gay musicals tonight, but I also enjoyed Performing Memories! #vanfringe
I totally forgot to keep posting about the #vanfringe shows I've been going to, so apologies for the onslaught. I've had a busy few days.
I went to my first Smut Slam Thursday night and it was so good! A great space for people to air their sexy laundry, but in a comfortable and still entertaining setting! #vanfringe
On Friday I saw I am trying to think of some way to make the title shorter because this one is way too long I think we can all agree and it was quite amusing. If you find the title entertaining, you will also enjoy the show. #vanfringe
On Saturday I saw five (!) shows. The first was Everything is Super Wow, which was good! Not entirely my thing, but a fun send-up of vlogger and recreational cycling cultures. #vanfringe
Jack Goes to Therapy: A (Somewhat) Romantic Comedy was laugh-out-loud-slash-heartwarming queer comedy at its best. Highly recommend! #vanfringe
How to Tame Your Squirrel was bizarre fringe-y theatre, which is something I've been seeing less of at recent festivals. Glad to see more of it, and the title very precisely describes the show. #vanfringe
Stuff Of The Dead was estate-sale-meets-comedic-theatre at its best. Well crafted, and entertaining for the props alone. #vanfringe
Somehow I ended up seeing even MORE one-man queer musical comedy (I swear I didn't plan it this way), but I loved Anesti Daniels: This Show Will Change Your Life anyway. Check him out on the video-based socials media even if you're not here for #vanfringe
And tonight, I saw Before They Cut Down Our Tree which was a beautiful coming-of-age story about two Asian-Canadian girls, seen through the eyes of their older selves. Also highly recommend - there are four shows left at the relatively large Performance Works, please help them sell out the rest! #vanfringe
Saw my last #vanfringe show for this year tonight! No Worries If Not was a deeply personal and deeply funny reflection on, indirectly, laundry and the lies we tell ourselves and each other. The show was sold out so get your tickets now if you plan to go!
