Another portrait of one of my favorite ravens. I’m always trying to convey the curiosity and empathy in their eyes. Sorry if I’ve posted this one before.
@Jgbird look at their little beak mustache. Wowowow
@Jgbird "And don't even TALK to me about Edgar Allan Poe!"
@Jgbird I’m jealous. I only have one raven photo. Just one, then nevermore.
@Jgbird
Ravens are such smart and interesting birds!
@Jgbird Any tips on telling them apart from each other? I have a couple (I think) that I put peanuts out for, sometimes with a little battery-powered security camera nearby.
@Jgbird @Gargron
I like how Ravens used to talk as we’d talk to them but don’t now as we don’t talk to them and prefer parrots.

@taatm @Jgbird @Gargron There was one at the Point Defiance Zoo who would. Just after we walked past its pen we heard someone say "How ya doin?'"

There was no one there, we were pretty puzzled till we saw the bastard sitting there looking smug.

Favorite birds, favorite Battlemech

@TeflonTrout @taatm @Jgbird @Gargron Oh, that's the other thing. Even if we can't "speak" raven, I'd love to have some idea what they're chatting about.

The couple that have been around most lately are *very* conversational. Not just an occasional call or alarmed squawk, they're hanging out in the yard and just burbling away. It's very different from what I'm familiar with.

@Jgbird it is true that eyes are windows to the soul.
@Jgbird he's fabulous - always wanted to meet one... belong to the tower ravens group...
@Jgbird
This is just such a beautiful moment
@Jgbird I love crows and ravens. I have a crow family that I leave peanuts for. I just love to watch them. They are such intelligent and curious birds.
@Jgbird I don’t know if we can accept your apology. None of us has ever posted the same photo more than once…ever.😉
@Jgbird Love ravens. Used to watch them a lot in Alaska.
@Jgbird I love ravens. They are so intelligent and watching them communicate is fascinating.
@Jgbird That’s a fine looking birb. We have some variety of Crow or Raven in my area, I’ve been thinking about trying to befriend them. Seems like a fun thing to do.
@Jgbird
That's a topic that interests me. Mammals can show expression on their face, happy, subdued, protective. Birdies have their deformable beak, so if there is any emotion or attitude they can show, it would be with their eyes I guess. But I've never read if birds can show any expression at all.
@Jgbird If this is one of your favorite ravens, it must have told you its name. What's the bird's name?
