Yelled at by passenger of a large truck for rolling through stops going uphill on Vicente this am. I catch up with them at the light (as one does) and started to explain why its statistically safer for me to be in the intersection for as little time as possible etc but they kept yelling about how I have brake levers - didn't want to have a conversation. I wish I had a small info card to pass to them so they can understand my point of view as one who commutes via bicycle.
meanwhile after they pulled ahead of me I watched them roll through a few stop signs themselves. Its the west side of San Francisco - does anyone stop? The answer is no
@milkman more than once I’ve had driver stop way too close to me and coming way too fast when I stopped at the stop sign.
And no, I barely see anyone stop at the stop signs in sunset, sometimes driver doesn’t even slow down for the stop sign.
@baloo last friday when biking to school with my son we actually saw a car stop at a stop sign - but then the car behind it went around him through the intersection without stopping. Its nuts out there on the west side!
