I mean just for the ALT text alone this should get boosted more than it does.

@mia
Every time I order a delivery I have to tell them that GPS will not find my house. 🤪

@mia Where does “Drop and Run” fall on here
@bcoffy i think it would be ominous/vivid, it doesn't tell you exactly what's up but you know exactly what to do
also btw nice rat
@mia @knittingsquirrel there’s a “your GPS is wrong, turn around” sign with flashing lights on Mount Ashland (OR/CA USA) to alert people trying to get around when the I-5 is closed due to heavy snow. Baffling that driving down a mysterious mountain gravel road when the interstate is closed somehow sounded like a good idea to people in the first place, but I really appreciate the level of “done with this shit” which needs to happen for Caltrans and ODOT to make a flashing light sign there

There are people who will insist on going into a building that is currently on fire because they want to shop. (NotAlwaysRight has had multiple such stories.) That people will insist they have to, and will be able to, get through a heavy snow area on side roads isn't at all surprising.

@mia Once in Soledad Canyon (just north of LA) after a big winter storm I came to a bridge (a rather long one for the area). It was night but I could see the back of a large sign at the other end.

I drove across.

I turned around.

I read the sign:

"Bridge Out"

@mvilain @mia I heard claims that a small sticker looking like a common house fly at the right spot in the bowl is even more effective.
@mia That is astounding work!

@mia

Every sign tells a story.

I'd pay good money to just listen to a talented story teller, tell these.

@mia

This is a good one. It reminds me of the series of signs going up the 1/4 mile driveway towards the top of the hill where my house was at my old ranch.

The first one read: "Do you believe in God?"

A bit later, the second read, "Do you believe in Satan?"

As you continued up that hill with a steep cliff along the side the third one read, "Do you believe in Samuel Colt?"

Almost at the top, the last one read, "You're about to meet two of them."

After that, you'd be in my reticle.

.

@mia Thank you for writing this alt-text.
@mia The fallen "Falling Rock" sign looks like the beach in San Diego below Torrey Pines.
@mia This is *brilliant*!!!
@mia Is the "this will kill you" one about a plant?
