Republicans continue to talk about seizing power through violence if they lose the next presidential election.

Huckabee isn't fringe. He was a state governor and a serious presidential candidate.

We need to take the threat of Republican extremism far more seriously.

Canada would be loathe to do that. I live in Bellingham, WA, just south of the Peace Arch crossover. A fair number of people work and live on opposite sides of the border. The commercial traffic is significant between US-Canada. And there are so many other touchpoints.

Not to mention that Canada is a founding member of NATO. No, these politics are ours to solve. Either our electorate protects democracy, or other countries will try to adapt to the new 'us.' They're not going to save us from ourselves...nor should they. As if they could. Even if we plunge ourselves into civil war.
