By now, you may or may not have heard that 4 Vice journalists/editors recently quit to found their own venture. @404mediaco has already been breaking news. One piece, for instance, resulted in the New York MTA discontinuing a "feature" after showing stalkers could use it to track people without their knowledge (https://www.404media.co/mta-will-disable-omny-trip-history-feature-abuse/). 404 Media doesn't (yet) have much of a presence on Mastodon, but I'm hoping that will change.

Please follow journalist @josephcox, editor @jasonkoebler and the site itself: @404mediaco. I'm hoping that once they see the engagement that's possible here, they'll beef up their presence. Please also consider subscribing to 404 Media if you can afford it.
