@historyofpunkrock All to varying extents except the Messrs. Floyd, Dan, and Mac.

The ‘two sevens’ which would clash are the 77 in the year, and across Jamaica at the time was a superstition that when the two sevens clash (ie when it came to be 1977) bad and terrible things would happen (so my wife told me)

Weirdly pleased to see PF in the mix. 🤘🏾

@historyofpunkrock Are you trolling us by including Fleetwood Mac in the mix? I'd change the channel or just turn off the radio whenever they came on. Still do. Blech.

So many great other choices. I love me some Elvis Costello, Talking Heads, Iggy Pop, and even middle-period Pink Floyd, but "Rocket to Russia" and "The Clash" are particularly special to me. They had the greatest impact on my future musical tastes.

@historyofpunkrock 11/16 still here. To make a special/personal order is difficult, i like them (more or less) all. This should be my chronological order:
Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones, Television, Wire, Kraftwerk, Talking Heads, Suicide, Elvis Costello, Iggy Pop, Fleetwood Mac..
@Caruney @historyofpunkrock That's a great list.My own would include The Adverts and also The Slits.
@historyofpunkrock In order of photo placement: Fleetwood Mac, Ramones, Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, Clash.
@historyofpunkrock
Honestly, Loved all of these except Wilson, no clue who, what, why that he she ist...
@historyofpunkrock Never Mind The Bollocks, Rocket To Russia, and Rumors!
@historyofpunkrock Wow, what a year! 77, My Aim Is Trie & The Clash’s first would be my top picks from that bunch, but there’s a lot of good choices there.
@historyofpunkrock Great stuff! I have six of them in my vinyl collection (Television, Ramones, Pistols, Costello, Talking Heads, The Clash). I was 14 years old in 1977 so all this happened just at the right time.
@historyofpunkrock
Low in Jan ‘77, then this one in Oct ‘77!
In addition to Lust for Life.

@Clinkjet @historyofpunkrock There’s never been anyone like him, and there never will be.
@Tristananthony @Clinkjet @historyofpunkrock I'd say unfortunately, but on the other hand, we, as humans, are lucky to have had him in our lives in the first place. And I celebrate that.
@Clinkjet @historyofpunkrock he looks like he's checking his messages on the mobile
@Clinkjet @historyofpunkrock yeah. I didn’t fully appreciate it then, but I came to over the ensuing years. That decade is easily my favorite of his oeuvre. Stunning. What a giant he was.
