We can only see. In my bubble I see excitement left and right and I feel like we're bathing in shoujo right now. Truth is, we're still niche.
Production committee are a thing I don't understand. See Yuri On Ice. Massive hit. No sequel, no movie, no nothing. Other than Mappa who didn't earn money with it.
@angie_fic well, hopefully not a super hit...but a success to someone who matters. I think there's hope! But there's of course no transparency at all. I never have any idea what they carw about because it can sometimes be so baffling what does and doesn't get continued
But I do think people are right to be hopeful! It *feels* like there's some momentum I just wish I could back that up at all

The merch coming out is interesting as well. Figurines for example.
The way I screamed at a Tamahome Nendoroid that got made. Out of the blue! (mine still hasn't arrived)

It's wrong to think that shoujofans don't buy merch other than stickers or pins for an Ita-Bag. (I've heard that argument before)
We can throw money at shit....if we get it 🫠
